FERRIDAY — Services for Gladys Knoten, 87, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Knoten was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Ferriday, the daughter of Freeman Iseah and Martha Matthews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Percy Knoten.
Survivors include two nephews she raised as her own, Earl and Charles Robinson, both of Monroe, La.; two special nieces and caregivers, Mary J. Knoten and Elizabeth Lewis; caregiver, Charles Anderson, all of Ferriday; one stepson, Bernard Knoten of Michigan; niece, Roxie Gasper and husband, Thomas, of New Orleans; nephew, Kelly Knoten of Arizona; other nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Bill King of Chicago.
