Top of the Morning Miss-Lou. Have you ever wondered how to start a business? Have you ever wondered how to help your existing business? Where do you turn? How do you build a business plan? What is a business plan?
Wow! So many questions and who do you turn to? Well, if you are truly interested, then I can tell you that there is an assistance capability here in the Natchez area. Yes, that help would be Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the local Chamber of Commerce.
For the fantastic sum of just “free,” “nothing,” “no money whatsoever” you can receive assistance in the startup of your business and in the review and evaluation of your existing business.
How you say? Well there are two programs that provide assistance through Co-Lin’s Natchez and Wesson campuses. The first is the MyBiz program that informs you of the contact resources available to assist in the process. The second is the Small Business Development Center that provides no cost counseling for business owners and potential business owners.
Want to find out more about these programs? In cooperation with the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, the MyBiz and the SBDC will present a workshop about the two programs at 9 a.m. June 17 in the Natchez Convention Center in the Vicksburg Room.
No, this is not a scam program that lures you into a meeting and charges you large sums of money to get the answers.
We here at Co-Lin and the Natchez Chamber really are here to help with your business concerns. Come out and see what we have to offer. The program is truly open to all of those interested in starting a business or who are already in business and need some questions answered.
For more information you can contact the local Chamber of Commerce, 601-445-4611 or call Co-Lin SBDC at 601-446-1254.
Debbie Hudson is the president of the Natchez-Adams Chamber of Commerce.
