MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jarrett Hoffpauir started his season with the Memphis Redbirds off slowly, but as the weather heats up, so does Hoffpauir’s bat.
The Vidalia native homered twice against New Orleans Tuesday night, one day after also slugging a home run.
The three bombs give Hoffpauir six on the season.
Hoffpauir struggled at the beginning of the year for the Redbirds, a AAA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, hitting just .160 in the month of April.
However, Hoffpauir has warmed up in the batter’s box, hitting over .300 in May and over .400 so far in June.
Hoffpauir will try and continue his hot-hitting as the Redbirds travel to Nashville to face the Nashville Sounds in a four-game series, beginning Thursday.
