Animal shelter in true need of help
Published 12:00 am Sunday, June 28, 2009
We have a crisis in our town and it involves the deplorable conditions at our animal shelter. The present building the animals are housed in is simply not fit even for animals and it is up to us to help them as they need it in the worst way.
My husband David and I are friends of Vidal Davis and we have listened to him on 95 Country as well as others asking for help in raising the much-needed money to build a new state of the art facility for all the animals that so desperately need a safe clean environment while waiting to be adopted.
I want to thank Vidal Davis, Conner House and Dan Bland for donating the land for the new shelter building.
I also want to thank all the wonderful people who have and are working so diligently to help the animals, including 95 Country and The Natchez Democrat. All of you make us proud!
The new shelter financial goal is $750,000, and as far as I know the total thus far is $355,000 in savings and another $60,000 in pledges. They may have raised more by now but they need much more to reach the total goal.
If we all come together and give even a small monetary amount, it will benefit the animal shelter.
Let us all join in this worthy cause. No monetary gift is too small, just give what you can as it will add up and will help the animals.
I know we all can help meet the goal for the building fund. Won’t you please help!
Who knows, we may even see a few tails wag, get a lick on our cheek or hear a purr or two to say thanks!
