NATCHEZ — Despite setbacks, the City of Natchez will still experience a bang in celebration of the Fourth of July.
Even though confusion among officials on exactly who will be responsible for the show suppressed the event, Stratton Hall at First Natchez Radio took charge of the detonator and set the event for July 3.
“Things are going great,” Hall said. “We have the official word from the coast guard, things are all signed off and we are good to go.”
The event, scheduled to begin at dusk near Roth Hill Road, will feature some 800 shells being fired.
“Artistry of the Night will be providing the light show,” Hall said. “They do a show in Vicksburg and a big lights show in Natchitoches and they came very highly recommended.”
This event promises to be a great way to start off the first weekend in July.
“I think it’ll be a way to start off your weekend with a bang in beautiful downtown Natchez, watching fireworks with your family,” Hall said.
Sponsors helped get this troubled event going.
The sponsors are the City of Vidalia, City of Natchez, Vidalia Conference and Convention Center, Concordia Bank, United Mississippi Bank, Britton and Koontz Bank, Delta Bank, Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel, Bowies Tavern, First Natchez Radio Group and The Natchez Democrat.
“The community should thank the sponsors,” Hall said. “Without them this would have never been possible.”
