Exercises in futility continue

It is not too soon to point out the painfully obvious “falls from grace” in our hero-worshipping-gone-amok.
Managing editor Julie Cooper’s Wednesday column deftly points out:
1. A singer-dancer par excellence does not automatically provide a safe overnight haven for young boys in exchange for a suitcase full of cash;
2. An athlete sporting All-Pro credentials does not automatically earn the right to deprive four young kids of their fath…ah, well; ain’t this familiar turf?
Is this, indeed, some of America’s way of celebrating “contribution(s)” to an ordered society, with children watching and listening, fooled?
No. It cannot be.
