FERRIDAY — Maxcine Mize, 87, of Waterproof, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her awaiting loved ones that had preceded her, Sunday, July 12, 2009, surrounded by her beloved family.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Ledford and the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mize was born May 8, 1922, in El Dorado, Ark., the daughter of Elisha and Jane Webb. She was homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Clinton Mize; two sons, Robert Daniel Mize Sr., and Johnny Mize; her parents; two grandsons, Robert Daniel Mize Jr. and John Wesley Mize II; one granddaughter, Sharon Walker; two brothers, Alton Webb and Dalton Webb; and three sisters, Charlene Walters, Mary Bankston and Trudy Bankston.
Survivors include three sons, Owen Mize of Ferriday, Ray Mize and wife, Anna, and Richard Mize and wife, Brenda, all of Waterproof; five daughters, Evelyn Mohon and husband, Willard, of Vidalia, Ann Walker and husband, George, Wanda Fife and husband, Kenny, all of Waterproof, Darline Sweat and husband, Jerry, of Ferriday and Becky Lee and husband, Johnny, of Monterey; one sister, Peggy Southern of Winnsboro, La.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Larry Mize, Matt Long, Guy Long, Joey Mize, Timothy Mize, Lenny Mize, Brad Fife, Clinton Sweat and Aaron Crawford.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ritchie Mize.
