Week full of stars comes to a close

Though the biggest news of the week may have been the official grand opening at the Adams County Correctional Facility, CCA certainly wasn’t the only good news in town last week.
Let’s review a few of the week’s good headlines.
The Natchez Little Theatre fans and participants gathered Saturday night to honor a few of their finest. Congratulations to many locals who won awards for their work on stage and off. We hope you’ll be back, and if so, break a leg!
Approximately 40 Natchez residents attended a free workshop on rain barrels Saturday. The group now knows how to conserve rain water. We are thankful for their attempts to conserve and glad they are becoming role models for the rest of the community.
Summer library programs on both sides of the river are coming to a close, but the story simply doesn’t end there. For many area children a new chapter began this summer in their personal stories about learning. Congratulations to all the top readers. Don’t stop now.
Millions of dollars are coming to Concordia Parish for a variety of capital outlay projects, including road work and industrial development. The state dollars will help Vidalia and the Miss-Lou improve.
As the summer goes on, we know the good news will too. We’ll only have to wait and see what the new week will bring.
