FERRIDAY — Services for Floyd Ranson, 55, of Missouri City, Texas, formerly of St. Joseph, La., who died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the Veterans Medical Center in Houston, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Scott officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Ranson was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Newellton, La., the son of Heskie and Mary Bohannon Ranson. He was a retired steelmill employee.
Mr. Ranson served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Vivian Ranson and Earnestine R. Kinchen.
Survivors include three sons, Numbers Johnson of California, Floyd L. Ranson and wife, Courtney, of Houston and Breon Ranson of Gary, Ind.; two daughters, Teria Edwards and husband, Harold, of Houston and Tenetta Ranson of Gary; two sisters, Shirley Davis and husband, Willie, of St. Joseph and Dorothy Ricketts of Missouri City, Texas; two brothers, Frederick Ranson of Missouri City and Tommy Winston of Redwood, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
