VIDALIA — Services for Lamathelle Stampley, 86, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Vidalia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Stampley was born March 2, 1923, in Poplarville, the daughter of J.C. and Theresa Scarborough Jarrell. She was a member of Vidalia Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Joe Stampley; and one sister, Mary Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Walter L. Stampley; one daughter, Mary Evelyn Cupit of Vidalia; one brother, Billy Jarrell and wife, Glenda, of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren, Stacey Heflin, Kristen Cupit, Jodi Coleman, Danielle Stampley and Eric Stampley; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Julius Huhn, Henry Sugg, Tim Winston, Mike Malone, Jimmy Meyers and Roy Rushing.
