NATCHEZ — Several reports of illicit checks associated with a scam have been reported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Thursday.

Investigator Ricky Stevens said county residents have been mailed checks from a Victor Morales of Florida for several thousand dollars.

When the recipient attempts to deposit the money, the scammer is given all the victim’s banking information.

“If you get one of these checks, just tear it up,” Stevens said.
