WOODVILLE — Services for Isaac Abraham “I.A.” Carter Sr., 90, of the Buffalo community, who died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Wilkinson County Senior Care, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Corinth Church of Christ with the Rev. Bernard Waites officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Woodville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Carter was born in Wilkinson County, the son of Isaac W. Carter and Mary C. Carter. He was employed by Johns-Mansville for 40 years a welder. He was a lifelong member of Corinth Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Leake Carter; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include four sons, Kay F. Carter and wife, Chrystal, of St. Francisville, La., Isaac A. Carter Jr. and W. Thomas Carter and wife, Sherry, all of Woodville, and A. Boyd Carter and wife, Cindy, of Hattiesburg; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ike W. Carter, Casey B. Carter, Tim Morris, Eric Morris, Bill Greer, Dudley Carter, Charles Smith and Billy Wayne Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Smith, W.V. Carter, Julius Carter, the Rev. Murry “June” Hux, Rick Hux, Eddie Gerald Davis, George Perry Adams and the members of Caladonia Creek Hunting Club.
