First Friday means fun for all

First Friday weekends continue to build, and this Friday’s lineup is one of the best ever.

Four downtown corners will feature live musical performances from 6 to 8 p.m. Performers will be at Main and Commerce, Main and Pearl, Franklin and Commerce, and Franklin and Pearl.

And the movie, which will begin about 8:30 p.m. in front of the Historic Natchez Foundation building in the 100 block of South Commerce, will be one of the great family comedies of all time, staring Peter Sellers as a bumbling, but lovable, Paris detective.

And, as always, participating merchants will have balloons and blinking lights outside their shops to indicate that refreshments, bargains, artist displays or something else special is going on inside.

Everything is free, of course, including admission to the movie, which will be shown on a giant screen. Bring your own chairs, or we’ll have them to rent for just $1. We’ll also have hot dogs, pop corn, soft drinks and other snacks.

We’d like to thank our movie sponsors, Doc BigLove, The Natchez Democrat, the First Natchez Radio Group, Natchez Markets and Delta Rentals.
