NATCHEZ — Services for Mae B. Rushing, 96, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at her residence with the loving care of her family by her side, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Fred Morris officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rushing was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Point, La., the daughter of Lee Arron and Viola Barfield Simpson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Hulen Rushing; three sons, Clyde Rushing, Bobby L. Rushing and Donald Rushing.
Survivors include two sons, J.W. Rushing and wife, Sharon, and William Rushing and wife, Peggie, all of Natchez; four daughters, Reada Walters, Willie M. Rankin and husband, E.J., Alice Havard and husband, Billy Ray, and Inez Cupstid, all of Natchez; 31 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Rankin, James Clary, Charles Carter, Cecil Haines, Ricky Rushing and Donald Bertelsen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Rushing, Ross Rushing, E.J. Rankin and Billy Ray Havard.
