Starkville — Layforn Profice Jr, formerly of Natchez, will be preaching his first sermon at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Peiler Baptist Church in Starkville.

Profice is the son of the Rev. Layforn Profice Sr. of Natchez and the late Evelyn Y. Profice.

Layforn Profice Sr. is an associate pastor at Vine Hill No. 1 Baptist Church on Lower Woodville Road in Natchez. Layforn Profice Jr is a former member of Vine Hill No. 1 as well.

Layforn Profice Jr. is a graduate of South Natchez High School and is currently attending Mississippi State University, where he is an honor student

He is married to Katina Profice, and they have two daughters, Kinsey and Sidney.
