BATON ROUGE — Services for Sylvia “Mandy” Woodfork Thompson, 49, of Baton Rouge, who died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 at Oschner Hospital, will be 7 p.m. today at Winnfield Funeral Home in Baton Rouge with the Revs. Joseph Logan and Larry Wright officiating.

Special services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Windy Hill Baptist Church No. 2 on Cranfield Road.

Sylvia Woodfork Thompson was born April 27, 1960 in Natchez, the daughter of Roosevelt and Sophia Clarke. She attended North Natchez High School and Baton Rouge Vo-Technical College. She was a department manager at the Baton Rouge Lowe’s Cortona, and a member of St. Mary Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Thompson Jr.; one son, Ernest Thompson III; two daughters, Chelsea Thompson and Candice Thompson; six sisters, Rochelle Logan and husband, James, Joann Woodfork Thompson, Lavon Barnes and husband, Byron, Dietra Murray, Rhonda Murray and Erica Foreman and husband, Tylon; four brothers, Eric Woodfork and wife, Michelle, Don Tucker and wife, Felicia, Lee Edward Woodfork and wife, Idell, and Elmer Woodfork Jr.; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Thompson; mother-in-law, Elizabeth T. Parker and father, Elmer Woodfork; step-mother Delores P. Woodfork and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the Lowe’s family.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
