NATCHEZ — Services for Doris Stogner, 83, of Meridian formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 in Meridian, will be 10 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Mike Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. today until time of services at the funeral home.
Doris was born Feb. 5, 1926 in Franklinton, the daughter of Robert Steven and Annie Pittman Stogner. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dorris David Farmer III; two brothers, Paul Stogner and Leverte Stogner; one sister, Floy Buseck, and one granddaughter, Sarah King Scroggins.
Survivors include six daughters, Gwen Storie of Meridian, Betty Whitney and husband, Mark, of Natchez, Bobby Mercer of Long Beach, Edna Mercer and husband, Garry, of Moss Point, Doris Ann King and husband, Keith, of Minden, Lynn Arnold and husband, Johnny, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; a number of special nieces and nephews; special caregiver Marguerite, her hospice nurse, and a great-granddaughter, Jayden.
Pallbearers will be Garry Joe Mercer, Michael Smith, Robert Wells, Phillip Hill, Adam Arnold and Josh King.
