FERRIDAY — Services for Joey Trunzler, 39, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, in Jonesville, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.
Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mr. Trunzler was born Feb. 26, 1970, in Natchitoches, La., the son of Joe Tom and Mary Gene Trunzler. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and Kappa Sigma of Louisiana State University.
Joey loved fishing and Louisiana State University sports and enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John “Big John” Bartmess Sr.; maternal grandmother, Marcella “MeMaw” Bartmess; paternal grandparents, B.G. and Mamie Trunzler; and two uncles, Darrell Taylor and Rocky Bartmess.
Survivors include his parents of Jonesville; two sisters, Katie Adams and husband, Johnnie, of Larto, La., and Sommer Trunzler and Chad Eubanks, both of Jonesville; step-grandmother, Myrtle “Step Gran” Bartmess of Wildsville, La.; two nieces, Mary Kate and Carree Ferguson; five nephews, Jake Ray, Noah Ray, Jackson Adams, Lane Eubanks and Logan Eubanks; eight aunts, Toni, Billie, Dianne, Ann, Sherry, Elizabeth, Shirley and Helen; six uncles, Martin, Mike, Basil, John Ed, George and Boone; Mike and Robbie “Dad and Mom” Wilson; and a number of cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Urena, Nick Nicholson, A.D. Taylor, Scott Hudnall, Gerald Huffman Jr., and Michael Oxley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Bartmess, Keith Etue, Johnnie Adams, Chad Eubanks, Jake Ray, Noah Ray, Jackson Adams, Carree Ferguson, Mary Kate Ferguson, Lane Eubanks, Logan Eubanks and Nathan Roark.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cenla CDC, 308 Nasif St., Jonesville, LA 71343 or the Block High School Football Association.
