NATCHEZ — Services for LaVerta Joyce Beard Bryant, 73, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bryant was born March 31, 1936, in Tillman, the daughter of Nolan P. and Beatrice Beard. She lived most of her life as a resident of Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, George L. Bryant.
Survivors include seven children, D’Wayne Bryant and wife, Diane, Phyllis Copeland and husband, Rossi, Ronnie Bryant and wife, Angie, Jeff Bryant and wife, Sheree, and LeeAnn Milligan and husband, Tommy, all of Natchez, Teresa Davis and husband, Randy, of Memphis, Tenn., and JaNell Verucchi and husband, Mark, of Brandon; 11 grandchildren, Valerie Epling and husband, Paul, Lauren Middleton and husband, Wes, Garret Jones, Amanda Bryant, Katie Davis, Tabitha and Brittany Bryant, Colby and Mark Austin Verucchi, McKenzie and Isabella Milligan; four great-grandchildren, Renee, Emily, Amy and Evelyn Epling; one brother, Kenneth P. Beard and wife, Pat, of Stampley; and one sister, Shirley Burns and husband, Gerald of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Garret Jones, Tommy Milligan, Mark Verucchi, Randy Davis, Scott Brumfield, Kevin Beard, Wes Middleton and Shiloh Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
