NATCHEZ — A Breaud’s restaurant employee was robbed at gunpoint after ending her shift Wednesday night.

Natchez Police Department Sgt. Craig Godbold Natchez Police Department said two female Breaud’s employees were walking from the Main Street restaurant to their car parked in the 100 block of North Commerce Street when the armed robbery occurred.

One female got in the car, and was reaching across to unlock the passenger side door when a 6-foot black man wearing a black wife beater undershirt and blue jeans accosted the waiting passenger.

“(The suspect) ran up behind her, pointed a gun in her face and said, ‘Give me your purse,’” Godbold said.

“The girl screamed, ‘Please don’t shoot me,’ and (the suspect) grabbed her purse from her and took off.”

Godbold said the suspect is in his early to mid-20s and has a low, but thick haircut.

Godbold said investigators are now checking surveillance videos of businesses along Main and Commerce streets for leads in the case.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to call the Natchez Police Department at 601-445-5565.
