Natchez —AARP Tax Aide is looking for local volunteers in the Natchez area to help with the 2010 tax season.
“We need volunteers who have good people skills, who are comfortable working with computers, and who enjoy helping senior adults and lower to middle income citizens with their taxes,” said Jacqulyn Williams, local coordinator.
AARP Tax Aide volunteers receive free tax preparation training and are reimbursed on a limited basis for qualified program related expenses.
They will help taxpayers on a one-to-one basis at the George W. Armstrong Library in Natchez.
Last year, Tax Aide volunteers in Natchez served approximately 325 taxpayers and helped to put over one hundred thousand dollars back into the local economy of Natchez.
For more information on how to become a Tax Aide volunteer, contact Jacqulyn Williams, AARP tax aide local coordinator at (601) 442-5060 or via email at jbw6@bellsouth.net.
