In the midst of national and local turmoil, Adams County is fortunate. We have many candidates for sheriff who possess various talents and expertise. Among these candidates there is one who is more than qualified and is the only choice for sheriff.
Mr. Charles R. “Chuck” Mayfield is a life-long Adams County resident. He grew up in Morgantown and attended Natchez public schools. He is an ordained elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Mayfield has served our community, state and nation for more than 25 years and his civic experiences are necessary to run an effective administration. Mr. Mayfield’s past responsibilities include serving as deputy, criminal investigator, special agent for Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, drug enforcement officer, commander of metro narcotics and law enforcement liaison officer/court designee.
Chuck Mayfield believes in proactive and preventative tactics. His mentoring program for the children of prisoners is the only one of its kind in the state. Mr. Mayfield also serves as the director for the Adams County Coalition for Children and Youth. He understands that intervention at a young age will help to prevent crimes in the future.
Mr. Mayfield is a proven leader in our community. He has educated countless children and adults about the effects of drugs and alcohol through awareness programs. Mr. Mayfield has served as a board member and is presently a volunteer for the following organizations: the Natchez Festival of Music, the Jefferson Military College, the Natchez-Adams Humane Society and the Natchez Children’s Home.
Mr. Mayfield will make Natchez and Adams County a better, safer community. This is his promise. His level-headed leadership skills accentuated by courage, compassion and pragmatism make him the only man for the job. Chuck Mayfield’s character and integrity epitomize citizenship. Please elect Charles R. “Chuck” Mayfield on Nov. 3.
