Amanda Wilson’s first-grade class at Vidalia Lower Elementary celebrated Apple Day by learning about Johnny Appleseed and apples.

The students read books about apples, labeled the parts of an apple, tasted three different types of apples — Gala, Golden Delicious and Granny Smith — and made a class pictograph showing their favorite types and tasted three products made from apples — apple juice, applesauce and apple butter — and made a graph of their favorite product.
