GRIFFIN, Ga. — Services for George Edward Montgomery, of Griffin, Ga., formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Christian Ministries Hospice, were Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009.
Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin.
Mr. Montgomery was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Natchez, the son of John A. Montgomery and Alyce Shaw Montgomery.
George was a 1948 graduate of Natchez High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College. He moved to Griffin in 1956.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John A. Montgomery Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joan Del Homme Montgomery; three daughters, Cynthia Montgomery, Marsha Clark and husband, Rickey, and Laurie Anne Karam and husband, Fred; four grandchildren, Amy Karam Gilchrist and husband, Mark, Nancy Marie Karam, Whitney Clark and Nicholas Clark; one brother, Lee Montgomery of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Frances Montgomery of Houston, Texas; two nieces; and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial contributions in Mr. Montgomery’s memory to Reflections, 136 Hill St., Griffin, GA 30224.
