CELINA, Texas — Services for Edward H. Preston, 76, of Natchez, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, in Celina, Texas, were Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in Celina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Essie Preston; his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include five children, Sharon Crooks and husband, Robert, of Woodward, Okla., Loretta Sanford and husband, Delton, of Natchez, Charles Ayres and wife, Karen, of Enid, Okla., Mary Nettle and husband, Steve, of Celina and Deborah Ayres of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren, Jerod Crooks, Lauren Coffin and husband, Kenny, Bobby Scott Jr., and wife, Ami, Kimberly Scott, Ryan Smith and wife, Desiree, Preston Smith, Emily Smith, Jenna Nettle, Stratton Ramey, Ellen Ayres and Paige Ayres; five great-grandchildren, Anna Kate Scott, Joseph Scott, Madelynn Smith, Mia Smith and Jagger Coffin; and one brother, Ernest Preston and wife, Marilyn, of Hayward, Wisc.
Ed will always be remembered for his love of family and his laughter. He truly was a great man and we are all the greater for having known him. We will miss his presence here on earth but will rejoice when we see him again in heaven.
