NATCHEZ — Services for Alice M. Ford ”Cooley” “Yobbi” “MaDear” Mock, 91, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. James Washington officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mock was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Natchez, the daughter of Henry and Stella Montgomery Ford. She attended Brumfield High School. She was a homemaker and was employed as a factory worker. Mrs. Mock was retired. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and served as a mother of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Mock; her parents; one son, Elmo Austin Jr.; two brothers, Joseph and Ernest Ford; and two sisters, Leveltus McDaniel Carter and Clara Ford.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Jorell Austin of Maryland and Kenitra Austin of Corpus Christi, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Anai Austin Hicks of Corpus Christi; four nieces, Juanita Walker and husband, James, of Memphis, Tenn., Shirley McDaniel Boatright of Compton, Calif., Barbara McDaniel of Cerritos, Calif., and Joyce McDaniel Lewis of Sacramento, Calif.; two nephews, John Washington of Ione, Calif., and Willie McDaniel of Bellflower, Calif.; three stepsons, Ronnie Clay and wife, Maxine, of Natchez and Freddie Clay and wife, Brenda, of Summerville, S.C., and Johnny Clay and wife, Ethoria, of Lucedale; and a number of great-nieces, great-great-nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
