PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Services for Billy Roger “Nig” Hall, 75, of Pine Bluff, Ark., who died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at his residence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Edmonson officiating.
Burial will follow at Cypress Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff, Ark.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Hall was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Franklin County, the son of Willis Lloyd and Willie Marie Ratcliff Hall. He was raised in Brookhaven and was a graduate of Brookhaven High School. He retired from International Paper Company after 36 years as a maintenance supervisor, having worked in Natchez and Pine Bluff. After retirement, he baled and sold hay and was affectionately known as “the hay man.” He also collected bells and was a volunteer cook at the IP Supervisor Club.
Mr. Hall was a member of East Side Baptist Church and served as a choir member. He was also a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge in Natchez; Shriners in Pine Bluff; the York Rite of Little Rock where he was a 32nd degree Mason; and the Roper Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Alton “Joby” Lloyd Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Marie Rogillio Hall, who he married on May 30, 1954, in Natchez; three daughters, Donna Marie Hall Bradshaw and husband, Jerry, of Maumelle, Ark., Dianna Lynne Hall Bailey and husband, Billy, of Heber Springs, Ark., and Denise Hall Courson and husband, Jerry, of Star City, Ark.; three sisters, Donna Margaret Hall of Greenwood, Barbara Hall Leigh and Rachel Sonja Hall Murray and husband, Edward Lee, all of Natchez; five grandchildren, Meridith Leigh Hamilton, Allen Corey Neal II, both of Little Rock, Ark., Cody Bryan Stringfellow of Fordyce, Ark., Tyler Mackenzie Courson and Jacob Hall Courson, both of Star City; and one great-grandchild, Isabella “Bella” Grace Hamilton of Little Rock.
