Enjoy First Friday, then come inside

The time has changed, the weather is turning chilly, and leaves litter yards. Fall in Natchez is a great time of year. School is in full swing and high school sports are going strong. It is a break from the extreme temperatures that we are all so used to.
However, there is more going on in Natchez than just high school football.
Starting at 6 p.m. today the Natchez Downtown Development Association is hosting another First Friday weekend. During the First Friday event there will be live music on the corner of Main and Commerce streets, stores will keep their doors open late with discounts, and the atmosphere will be filled with great times and great smelling food. Retailers will shine with balloons and blinking lights to let you know that they are open.
Then at 8 p.m. everyone can come in from the chilly night to enjoy a free two thumbs up musical film featuring Patrick Swazey dancing dirty all night long.
In the past, the movie was on the street, but this month, Natchez Downtown will host a Patrick Swayze hit in the Natchez Historic Foundation building at 108 S. Commerce St.
There will also be hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks and other snacks available for purchase.
The NDDA would like to thank First Friday sponsors, The Natchez Democrat, the First Natchez Radio Group, Natchez Markets, Dr. Doug Smith & the Eye Center of Natchez, George W. Armstrong Library and the Natchez Historic Foundation.
