IRS owes residents money

VIDALIA — The Internal Revenue Service is looking for 13 Miss-Lou residents to whom it owes money.
The residents in question had refund checks available, but the IRS was unable to deliver them because of mailing address errors.
“All a taxpayer has to do is update his or her address once and the IRS will then send out all checks due,” IRS spokesperson Dee Harris said in a news release.
For Louisiana residents, the average undeliverable refund was $1,080, while for Mississippians it was approximately $822.
To claim the refund, taxpayers can call 1-800-829-1954 or access the “Where’s my refund?” tool at www.irs.gov.
