JACKSON — Bryan and Thomas Adair, Woodville businessmen, have entered guilty pleas to embezzlement charges.
Attorney General Jim Hood announced the news Friday.
The Adairs owned and operated Adair Mobile Homes in Woodville.
Bryan Adair, 33, 70 Fairway Drive, Natchez, pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor counts of embezzlement on Oct. 26.
He was sentenced to serve 364 days on each count, but the sentence was suspended. He was also sentenced to six months of probation and he paid $30,000 in restitution, plus court costs.
Thomas Adair, 62, 3102 Highway 24 East, Woodville, pleaded guilty on Oct. 19, to two counts of felony embezzlement. Thomas Adair was sentenced to serve 10 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, six years suspended, and five years of post-release supervision.
Upon release from MDOC, Thomas Adair must immediately report to the restitution center where he is to remain until he has paid the total restitution amount of $88,867.
“The four elderly victims paid the defendants cash up front for mobile homes which were never delivered to them, nor were they given any refunds,” Hood said.
The father and son were arrested in March. Both worked as officers, directors and managers of the mobile home company.
When the arrest was made, Hood said the men had allegedly fraudulently appropriated $140,000 from customers.
