Lula Alexander

BROOKHAVEN — Services for Lula Booker Alexander, 76, who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Promise Hospice in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. today at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Nettles Family Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Harrigill Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alexander was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Adams County, the daughter of Hardy J. Booker and Lottie Montgomery Booker.

She was a retired telephone operator for BellSouth and a member of Non-Denominational Holiness.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Okley J. Alexander; two brothers, Jack Booker and Carl Booker; one sister, Vola May.

Survivors include four sons, Paul Alexander and wife, Linda of Alabama, Okley J. Alexander Jr. of Bude, Phillip Alexander and wife, Sherry of St. Augustine, Fla. and Gary Alexander of Meadville; three sisters, Madelene Carter of Meadville, Irene Brewer of Natchez and Morene Sumerall of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Leonard McManus, Benjamin Alexander, Paul Brian Alexander, Jeffery Velazquez, Hincheary Lee and Mark Alexander.
