DETROIT — Horace Pullins Jr., 62, of Detroit, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009.

Private memorial services will be at a later date for immediate family members.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Pullins was born March 18, 1947, in New Orleans, the son of Horace Pullins Sr. and Bernice Harriel Pullins. He attended Adams County public schools and was employed by General Motors Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Essie Pullins; one stepson, Reuben Riley; one brother, Earl; and a number of uncles.

Survivors include five children, Horace Pullins III, Tiffany Pullins, Tiheshia Pullins and Maurice Pullins, all of Natchez, and Terrance Pullins of Baton Rouge; four siblings, Paula Newton and husband, Ray, of Gulfport, Frank Pullins and wife, Geraldine, of Natchez, Jessie Pullins and wife, Lorraine, and Lee Pullins and wife, Shelia, all of New Orleans; one sister-in-law, Susan Pullins of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
