NATCHEZ — Chuck Mayfield will be sworn in as Adams County sheriff at 11 a.m. Friday.

The swearing in will be in the Adams County Chancery Courtroom.

Mayfield defeated opponent Ray Brown by 438 votes in last week’s runoff election.

Mayfield will fill the remaining two years of the late Ronny Brown’s term. Brown’s widow Angie Brown has served as interim sheriff since her husband’s death in March.
