Parish chambers leading way

If a rolling stone gathers no moss, Concordia Parish might in fact be moss-free at the moment, at least given the volume of “rolling stones” living and working there.
Quick, sure action this week shows that business leaders in the parish are anything but procrastinators.
This week, just a short time after announcing they were studying the idea of merging together, the Vidalia and Ferriday chambers of commerce now have a plan of action and a timeline.
Realizing they have more power and influence working together than separately, the two organizations are set to become one.
The move is a smart one for the parish’s business interests. Ferriday and Vidalia have long understood an important aspect of living in the Miss-Lou — when one area flourishes, all benefit.
While the work isn’t completely done yet, the fact that the groups moved so decisively and with such surety of purpose is proof that they’ll likely get the merger done quickly and efficiently.
We congratulate them on the sure-footed, rolling stone attitude.
Ferriday Chamber President Liz Brooking said it best, “The time is right, we all need each other so much — we just need to pull together.”
Well, said, Liz.
