NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Jane Miller Sims, 91, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be a 2 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at Skinner Cemetery under the direction of Williams and Williams Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Sims was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Adams County, the daughter of Gus and Annie Yancy Miller. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and served for 58 years as the church secretary until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wyatt “Waree” Sims; her parents; four brothers, George, Ayres and Clint Miller Sr., and Willie “James” Drew; and a special nephew, Clint Miller Jr.

Survivors include a devoted nephew, Alvin Bacon and wife, Brenda; one stepson, Willie “Ray” Sims; two step-granddaughters, Felessa and Kimberley Sims; three step-great-grandchildren; a loving sister-in-law, Stella R. Miller; one brother-in-law, Vernon L. Cade; a loving godchild, Marie Singleton Bass; a devoted, adoring and trusted friend, Daisy G. Green; three exceptional cousins, James Ware and wife, Ruby, Dorothy Mae Williams and husband, Amos, and Isom Cameron and wife, Theresa; four special nieces, Jane Brown and husband, Andrew, Josephine Rounds and husband, Johnnie, Cynthia Faye Sanders and husband, Frankie, and LeVera G. Allen; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews; special cousins; and a number of other relatives and friends.
