NATCHEZ — Services for Hester Dier Jackson, 73, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, will be at 11 a.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Roy Tidwell officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Busy Corner under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Jackson was born May 15, 1936, in Meadville, the daughter of Hugh Dier and Addie May Dier. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a loving mother and wife who will be greatly missed.

She was married to Donald Jackson who was a master staff sergeant and served in North Korea. They worked together in his TV repair business until his death May 1, 1990. She loved her family, reading her Bible and God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Stephen Carroll; two sisters, Viola Fos and Donis Dillon; and three brothers, George Dier, Jessie Dier and Obin Dier.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Jackson and Debbie Carroll and husband, Glenn, all of Natchez; two grandchildren, Dustin and Nicole Carroll; three sisters, Francis Rauschkolb of Huntsville, Ala., Stella Fenech of New Orleans and Estella Alexander of Natchez; two brothers, Roan Dier and wife, Clarece, and Hugh Dier and wife, Mary, all of Franklin County; one nephew, Larry Jackson; and a very large extended family.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Carroll, Dale Dier, Malvin Dier, William Smith and Thomas Griffin.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550 or Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez.
