VIDALIA — A local man suffered moderate injuries after a single-vehicle motorcycle accident at approximately 8:30 Thursday morning.
Sam King of Vidalia was traveling eastbound on U.S. 84 when his motorcycle exited the roadway at the foot of the Mississippi River Bridge, Police Chief Ronnie G. “Tapper” Hendricks said.
The motorcycle entered the crape myrtles planted in the median before flipping several times.
“If you had a piece of tinfoil and twisted it in your hands, that’s what the bike looked like,” Hendricks said. “He’s lucky to be alive.”
King suffered a broken leg and a deep gash in his leg. He was treated for the injuries at Natchez Regional Medical Center Thursday.
King is the circulation manager at The Natchez Democrat and a Ferriday police officer.
