FERRIDAY — Services for Marilyn “Beth” Williams, 73, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams was born July 18, 1936, in Jonesville, the daughter of Robert David Cowart and Mary Elizabeth Cowart. She was employed by Coronets Restaurant as a waitress and Western Auto in Ferriday as a sales clerk for a number of years. She was also a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church in Ferriday where she served as adult women’s Sunday school teacher and also church clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Allen, Versie, Robert and Ernie Cowart; and three sisters, Mamie Parker, Lula Mae Delaughter and Dorothy Curry.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Williams; one son, Howard Randy Williams of Ferriday; and three brothers, James Cowart of Jonesville, Bo Cowart of West Monroe, La., and Bud Cowart of Baton Rouge.

Pallbearers will be Julian Lushute, Richard White, James King, Charles Renfrow, Wade Kirby and Blair Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Herman Gibson Jr. and Dr. Jack Rodriguez.
