NATCHEZ — Services for Sue Caroline Brown Jeffus Gibbs, 76, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Adams County Nursing Center, were Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Darian Duckworth officiating.

Burial followed at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gibbs was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Heidelberg, the daughter of Roscoe Blackwell Brown and Dellie Vermel McClellan Brown. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. As a gifted seamstress, she constructed several dresses seen in the confederate pageant in the 1960s and early 1970s. She was a department manager at Sears in Tracetown Shopping Center when the store opened.

She was preceded in death by herparents; and husband, Burnham R. Gibbs.

Survivors include three daughters, Grace J. Williams and husband, Gerald, Esther R. Jeffus and husband, Roy Price, and Miriam J. Timmons and husband, Steve; one grandson, Kenneth Timmons and wife, Melissa; one granddaughter, Stephanie Anne Timmons; one great-granddaughter, Tyranny Paige Timmons, all of Natchez; two stepsons, Roger Gibbs and wife, Sharon, of Banning, Calif., and Rob Gibbs and wife, Deb, of Red Bluff, Calif.; four sisters, Faye Harrington of Paulding, Bonnie Lacey of Austin, Texas, Patsy Habeeb of Gautier and Linda Brown of Collierville, Tenn.; four brothers, William McClellan “Mack” Brown of New Port Richey, Fla., Robert Wayne Brown of College Station, Texas, Ralph Allan Brown of Heidelberg and Mark Edward Brown of Laurel; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and sitters and confidantes, Lenora McMorris and Nikki Gooden.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Timmons, Roy Price, Everette Ratcliffe, Mike Gunning, Ken Naff and Roger Davis.

Honorary pallbearer was the Rev. Dr. John W. Larson.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church of Natchez or Natchez-Adams County Humane Society Building Fund.
