Krewe of Phoenix announces royalty

Natchez — The Krewe of Phoenix recently announced the 2010 royalty for the upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations.

Rex XXVIII Adolf Jonaitis

Adolf is a graduate of Michigan Technological University. He is a member of Alumni of Michigan Tech and Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. Adolf is a member of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, the Natchez Opera Guild, the B.P.O. Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Natchez Santa Claus Committee and the Natchez Chapter of the Football Hall of Fame Foundation.

He is a member of Friends of the Library, Natchez Little Theater and a member of the Krewe of Killarney.

He is retired from his profession of metallurgical engineering and is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America. Adolf’s hobbies and interests include hunting, fishing, golfing and snow skiing.

He supports his wife, the former Patricia Mullins as an avid LSU fan. They are members of St. Mary Basilica.

Rosalie XXVIII Beverly Ratcliffe

Beverly was born in Jackson, but has lived in Natchez most of her life. She graduated from Natchez-Adams High School where she was a National Merit finalist, the NAHS Star Student and the recipient of the Math and Science awards.

She attended LSU with an honor scholarship in the College of Chemistry and Physics. She was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Delta Zeta sorority.

She works at McLaurin Elementary School. Beverly is a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ducks Unlimited, the Pilgrimage Garden Club and the Krewe of Friday.

She has served as secretary and president of the Krewe of Phoenix. Her interests include traveling, reading, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren. She is a supporter of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and the Mustang Heritage Foundation.

Beverly is married to Latta Ratcliffe, and they have two children, Richard Ratcliffe and Nicki Barbour and four grandchildren. They are also the parents of their third maltese, Mini Pearl.

Duke Great Sun Lindsey Callon

Lindsey is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor degree in business management. He is employed with Wilcox Energy Company in Natchez.

Lindsey is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Natchez Santa Claus Committee and he is currently serving on the board of the Natchez Chamber of Commerce where he is the president of the Young Professionals.

His hobbies and interests include cooking, hunting, traveling and oil exploration.

Lindsey is married to the former Katherine Cestia of New Iberia, La .

Duchess La Glorieuse Carrie Pugh

Carrie is the daughter of Polly Parker Pugh and the late Jack J. Pugh III. She’s a Natchez native and a 1998 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School. After high school, Carrie attended the University of Mississippi where she was initiated into Delta Gamma Sorority and attended Mississippi State University where she earned an educational specialist degree in school psychology.

Carrie is currently employed by Concordia Parish School Board where she is a nationally certified school psychologist. Carrie is a member of St. Mary Basilica, Pilgrimage Garden Club and a past board member of Natchez Downtown Development Association.

Her hobbies include cooking, traveling and attending Ole Miss sporting events.

Duke of Versailles Stephen Hollingsworth

A resident of Natchez, he graduated from Cathedral High School in 2002. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from Texas Tech University in 2007 and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Stephen has been active in the Natchez community where he was Natchez Garden Club King in 2005. Stephen is currently a professional golfer on the Adams Tight Lies Professional Tour. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church and in his spare time enjoys working out and traveling.

Stephen is the son of Guy and Susan Hollingsworth, of London, England.

Duchess Marie Therese Melissa Vaughan

Melissa is originally from Benton. She moved to Natchez six years ago with her family.

Melissa is a graduate of Delta State University where she received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She is currently employed at Cathedral School , where she teaches fifth- and sixth-grade. She also owns and operates a small business in which she designs and makes jewelry.

Melissa attends Jefferson Street United Methodist Church where she is involved with the youth group and choir. She is a lifetime member of Junior Auxiliary and an active member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and Cathedral Athletic Association.

She enjoys exercising, traveling, going to concerts, gardening, the lake and spending time with family and friends.

She is married to Hays Vaughan and they have two children, Nolan and Marli Vaughan.

Duke Monfort Browne Ryan Wingfield

John Ryan Wingfield is a lifelong Natchezian who left briefly after high school to attend college. He attended Co-Lin Community College in Wesson where he played on the nationally ranked tennis team before transferring to the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a masters in professional accounting at USM.

Ryan is currently employed at Silas Simmons, LLP as a staff accountant.

He attends St. Mary Basilica where he serves as an usher. Ryan is the treasurer for both the Krewe of Phoenix and the Natchez Elks Lodge as well as a board member for the Natchez Trace Kiwanis.

He is also a member of Young Professionals, United States Tennis Association, USM Alumni Association and the Krewe of Mayhem.

Ryan is married to the former Amanda Stricklin of Vidalia. His hobbies include traveling, reading, camping, tennis and spending time with family and friends

Duchess of Panmure Stacey Cupit Heflin

Stacey is a 1996 graduate of Vidalia High School. She received a master of science in communicative disorders from the University of Louisiana in Monroe in 2003. She’s employed as a speech language pathologist with the Natchez-Adams School District.

Stacey is a member of the First Baptist Church of Natchez, Pilgrimage Garden Club, Krewe of Fat Mama’s, American Speech Language Hearing Association and Mississippi Speech Language Hearing Association.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, decorating, reading and traveling. Stacey is married to Stuart Heflin and they have one daughter, Ella Grace.

Duke Manuel Gayosa de

Limos Ryan Paul

Ryan grew up in Vidalia and graduated with honors from Vidalia High School.

He then attended Louisiana Tech University where he obtained his bachelor’s of science degree in industrial engineering with a minor in business management.

While at Tech, Ryan was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and was actively involved in the Student Government Association.

He was one of only 18 seniors in the 2005 graduating class chosen as the Who’s Who for Louisiana Tech University. Ryan was also president of Alpha Pi Mu Engineering Honors Society. Recently, he obtained a master’s of business administration from Texas A&M University.

He was also named Bowie Business Person of the Year by the Vidalia Chamber of Commerce for 2008. Ryan has been employed in the industrial manufacturing Industry for five years. Currently he is employed as the senior quality manager for BASF at the Vidalia/Port Allen facility.

He is a member of both the Natchez and Vidalia Chambers of Commerce. In addition, he serves as president for the Vidalia Chamber of Commerce, co-coordinator of the Lake St. John Flotilla and as a member of the Louisiana Tech Industrial Engineering Advisory Board.

Ryan and his wife, Krystle reside in Vidalia and they have two dogs, Bailey and Eva. Ryan enjoys water sports, boating, building construction and spending time with his family. He is the owner of Afterglow Tanning Salons in Vidalia and Natchez and co-owner of Paul Properties, LLC.

Duchess Marguerite Theresa de Limos Mindy Krick

Mindy was born in Natchez and is a current resident of Baton Rouge. She earned her bachelor of arts in social work and her masters of education in counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

After graduating in 2005, she went on to work as a foster care counselor with Youth Villages in Dyersburg, Tenn. She’s now employed with the State of Louisiana Department of Social Services as a social worker. During her undergraduate years, she spent three summers with one of her most cherished organizations.

She was a camp counselor for children and teens with neurofibromatosis. One of those summers was an international camp where children, teens and adults from all over the world gathered for a week to live life without the worry of neurofibromatosis. She’s also done work with the East Baton Rouge Parish Relay for Life.

She’s an avid LSU fan. Mindy has grown up with the Krewe of Phoenix since her grandparents, Boyd and Marge Alexander, were founding members in 1983. She was also queen of the Phoenix children’s parade in 1987.

Mindy is the daughter of Kevin and Kim Krick of Baton Rouge and is the granddaughter of the late Robert and Katherine Krick of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Boyd and Marge Alexander of Natchez.

Duke of Monmouth Wesley Rogers

Wesley Rogers is a graduate of Cathedral High School, Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the University of Mississippi. While attending Co-Lin, he was a member of the golf team and a first team All American. Wesley is an insurance agent at Stephens and Hobdy.

He enjoys competing in amateur golf tournaments and watching Ole Miss football. Wesley is married to Anne Pettit Rogers and they have a black lab named Bogey.

Duchess Eliza Lowe Little Robin Christian

Robin is a graduate of Milsaps College. She received a bachelor of nursing science degree from the University of Memphis, and a master’s degree in nursing from Texas Women’s University.

She received her doctor of nursing practice degree from Texas Christian University. She’s a family nurse practitioner at the Alcorn Family Clinic and an assistant professor for the Alcorn School of Nursing in Natchez.

Robin is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and St. Mary Basilica. Her hobbies include traveling, reading and watching her children participate in sports.

She is married to Scott Christian and they have two children. Madeleine attends Cathedral School and Will is a sophomore at Centenary College in Shreveport, La.

Duke Jefferson Davis Key Smith

Key Smith was born and raised in Natchez where he graduated from Cathedral High School in 2001. After graduating, Key attended college at the University of Mississippi where he earned a degree in accounting with a minor in English.

After a short stint in Memphis, Tenn., working for KPMG, LLP, he returned to Ole Miss where he attended law school. He graduated with honors from the law school in May 2008 and accepted a job at Maynard, Cooper and Gale PC in Birmingham, Ala.

After a little more than a year in Alabama, Natchez came calling and he returned to his hometown and accepted a job at Henry Wealth Management.

When not at work, Key enjoys running, biking, playing sports, coaching youth athletic teams, hunting and fishing.

Duchess Varina Howell Davis Gloria Neames

Gloria was born in Baton Rouge and raised in Mount Hermon, La. where she graduated from Mount. Hermon High School.

She has completed studies in food and beverage and paralegal studies at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Gloria was in banking and the legal field before coming to Natchez to pursue a career as a restauranteur. She is the sole owner of The Malt Shop in Natchez.

She has two children, Trey Neames and Erica Wallace and her husband Vinson of Baton Rouge.

She is also mom to Saddie Grace, her Jack Russell terrier.

Gloria is an avid bird hunter and a member of Triple L Hunt Club where she deer hunts.

She’s a member of the Notary Public Association, Natchez Little Theatre and Big Al’s Poker Club,

She supports The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and The Natchez Children’s Home. She enjoys fishing, playing golf, LSU sports, New Orleans Saints football, traveling and cooking.
