FERRIDAY — Services for Ruby Marie Cowan Collins, 79, of Clayton, who died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, in Ferriday, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Williams officiating.

Burial will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery in Dunbarton under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Collins was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Concordia Parish, the daughter of Gordon A. and Mattie E. Cowan. She was a lifelong resident of Concordia Parish and a homemaker. She was a member of Clayton Baptist Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bobby Chandler; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three sons, Bruce Chandler and wife, Kaye, of Alma, Ga., Barry Chandler and wife, Jo, of Little Rock, Ark., and Lynn Collins and wife, Amy, of Clayton; one brother, Carl Homer “Jackie” Cowan and wife, Ethel, of Dunbarton; six grandchildren, Lance Chandler, Kristi Winkle, Barry Chandler Jr., Nikki Gazelle, Emily Collins and Tyler Collins; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Foster Britt, Harold Cowan, James Cowan, Brett Harvey and Dennis Cowan.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Cowan.
