BROOKHAVEN — Services for Willie L. McArthur, M.D., 66, of Fayette, who died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Wade Missionary Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of R.E. Tyler Funeral Home in Brookhaven.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Greater Faith Worship Center in Fayette and from noon to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

Dr. McArthur was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Brookhaven, the son of Jefferson McArthur and Lucretia Gaston McArthur. He was a graduate of Alexander High School in Brookhaven and a graduate of Tougaloo College in Tougaloo. He received his master’s degree from Atlanta University in Atlanta and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Dr. McArthur was a member of Mount Wade Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Bracy McArthur; four sons, Edward McArthur of Brookhaven, Mark and Torance McArthur, both of Fayette, and Norris McArthur of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Alisha Wilkes of Vicksburg; one sister, Addie Lee Durr of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
