Natchez Garden Club announces pageant court

Natchez — The Natchez Garden Club has announced its 2010 Royal Court for the Historic Natchez Pageant. The maids, generals and pages in the Royal Court will serve the Natchez Garden Club’s queen and king during their reign in the upcoming Spring Pilgrimage.

Carter Benjamin Dickey

Carter is the son of Dr. and Mrs. William P. Dickey III and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Herrington of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. William P. Dickey Jr. of Meadville.

Carter is in kindergarten at Cathedral Elementary School. Carter is a member of the Vicksburg Swim Association, Natchez Youth Soccer Organization, USA Swimming, Mississippi Swimming, St. Mary Basilica and Children’s Prep Music Studio student. He enjoys college football, soccer, baseball, tennis, traveling, swimming, bowling, golf, riding his bike and playing Wii.

Carter’s previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Picnic at Concord and Showboat.

Ryan Hayes Marchbanks

Ryan Hayes Marchbanks is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Marchbanks and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Marchbanks of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hovas of Greenville.

Hayes attends Trinity Episcopal Day School. He is a member of First Baptist Church Children’s Choir, First Baptist Church Mission Friends, Good Citizen Preschool and played youth soccer. Hayes enjoys hunting, fishing, playing with friends, watching movies and playing games on the computer.

His previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole and The Picnic.

Sophie Westbrook Webber

Sophie Westbrook Webber is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ray Webber III of Vidalia and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ray Webber Jr. of Ferriday, the late Mr. and Mrs. Huey Pierce Richmond of Vidalia and the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Curtis Huff of Ferriday.

Sophie is enrolled in and enjoying her fourth year at Cathedral School where she is a first-grade student in Martha Adams’ class. She attends Natchez First Baptist Church where she enjoys children’s choir and mission studies.

Sophie is enjoying her second year as a member of the Girl Scout Daisy Troop 5392 and has earned several badges by participating in local community service projects.

She enjoys volunteering for the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and has joined with friends selling lemonade and artwork to raise money for the new animal shelter.

Sophie enjoys weekly art and music lessons and is a member of The Sassy Scrapbookers Club. She also enjoys spending time with her friends, family and dog Sassy.

Her previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole for the past three years.

Caroline Braswell Lowe

Caroline is the daughter of Ms. Jan Lowe and Mr. Richard Lowe and the granddaughter of Mrs. Doris Porter and the late Ned Porter, Mrs. Judy Braswell and the late Dlynn Braswell all of Natchez and Mrs. Judy Colley and the late Dale Lowe of Richlands, Va.

Caroline graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2007. She attended Ole Miss from 2007-2009 and is currently attending Mississippi State University majoring in Kinesiology.

Caroline graduated with honors from Trinity and has been on the dean’s list at Ole Miss and Mississippi State. She is a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Caroline enjoys hunting, intramural softball and water skiing. Her previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole.

Brittney Danielle Holzhauer

Brittney is the daughter of Caroline Holzhauer and Stan Owens and the granddaughter of Jean Thompson and Dody Owens.

Brittney graduated from Trinity Episcopal School and attends Mississippi State University majoring in political science/pre-law and minoring in communications.

Brittney is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, College Republicans, RUF and Campus Crusades.

Gena Britton Hinson

Britton is the daughter of Jimmy and Jeannie Dickey and Bill and Barbara Hinson and the granddaughter of Ann Ballew and the late Gene Ballew and Edgar and Fae Hinson all of Natchez.

Britton graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2008 and attends Copiah-Lincoln Community College majoring in radiography.

Britton is the recipient of the ACT Scholarship and the Great River Scholarship. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Student Society of Radiologic Technologists, student member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Britton enjoys shopping, reading, spending time with family and friends and playing soccer in her free time

Her previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, Placard Bearer, Polka and The Wedding.

Sarah Ellen Southern

Sarah Ellen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Inman White II and Mr. Brent Southern and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rush Mosby of Natchez, Mrs. Kay Walker Southern and the late Dr. M. E. Southern of Monroe, La., and Mrs. Jaquelyn C. White of Natchez.

Sarah Ellen graduated from Jackson Academy in Jackson in 2007 and attends the University of Mississippi majoring in accounting.

Sarah Ellen is a member of Delta Delta Delta Social Sorority, chancellor’s honor roll, National Collegiate of Scholars, Gamma Beta Phi, National Society of Leadership and Success, Jackson Symphone League Sub Deb, president of the Habitat for Humanity Club and supports St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Her previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole and receiving at The Parsonage.

Courtney Ruth Timm

Courtney is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Timm and the granddaughter of Pat Naff and the late James David Naff of Natchez and Rudolf and Diane Timm and the late Dorothy Timm of Lafayette, La.

Courtney graduated from Trinity Episcopal Day School in 2007 and attends Our Lady of the Lake College majoring in health service administration.

Courtney is a member of Student Government Association, Louisiana Rural Health Association, National Rural Health Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, Special Olympics Area 7 swim coach in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 and was the first recipient of the Jennifer Steckler Memorial Special Olympics Area 7 Coach of the Year Award.

Her previous pageant participation includes Raising of the Flag and Polka.

Jessica Elizabeth Best

Jessica is the daughter of Nancy Elizabeth Best and Anthony L. Best and the granddaughter of Florence Bankston of Natchez and the late Albert H. McIntosh and the late Rosalyn Waltmyer and the late Robert M. Best.

Jessica graduated from Cathedral High School in 2007 and attends Alcorn State University majoring in nursing.

Jessica is a member of the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Hall of Fame, vice president of Scholarship Phi Theta Kappa, vice president of Student Government Association, Honorary member of Tri-Beta Science and Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. Jessica also enjoys reading.

Her previous pageant participation includes Picnic, Showboat, Polka and substitute for Court.

Taylor Alexander Johnson

Taylor is the son of Judge and Mrs. Forrest “Al” Johnson and the grandson of Mrs. L.M. Taylor of Memphis, Tenn. and Mrs. O.W. Koerber of Natchez.

Taylor graduated from Cathedral High School in 2007 and attends Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he is majoring in business.

Taylor is an Eagle Scout and enjoys hunting, fishing, and all sports, especially football. His previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, Showboat, Polka and Raising of the Flag.

Jonathan Taylor Gamberi

Jonathan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gamberi and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Leckie and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gamberi, Sr. all of Natchez.

Jonathan graduated from Cathedral High School in 2007 and attends Belhaven College where he is majoring in accounting.

Jonathan is a member of St. Mary Basilica and the Cathedral Hall of Fame and Key Club and the St. Mary Catholic Youth Organization where he served as vice president for two years.,

In high school he played varsity football, winning letters for three years and the coach’s award in 11th grade and was the recipient of the DAR Good Citizenship Award.

Jonathan was named to the All Metro Football Team, All Region first team his senior season and honorable mention during his junior season.

He won the best lineman award his senior season and played college football at Belhaven College for three years. He was a starting defensive lineman his junior year.

He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, honorable mention Mid South Conference Western Division Defensive Team.

Jonathan enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and working out.

His previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, Raising of the Flag, Wheel Roller, Polka, Groom, Confederate Flag Runner and Court sub.

Russell Chandler Tipton

Russell is the son of Mark and Roanne Tipton and the grandson of Robert Baker Valentine and the late Anne (Bit) Valentine of Natchez and the late Carl Tipton and Polly Tipton of Mount Sterling, Ky.

Russell graduated from Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, La., in 2007 and attends Louisiana State Univiversity majoring in biology.

Russell is a member of Student Christian Medical Association, member of Alpha Epsilon Delta- Pre-Med Honor Society, high school soccer state finalist and Mandeville Soccer Club Player of the 2005-2006 season.

He enjoys soccer and other intramural sports including flag football and Ultimate Frisbee and all water sports.

His previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole.

Michael Anthony Scudiero

Michael is the son Anthony and Sandra Scudiero and the grandson of the late Raymond Kohler and Mary Elaine Kohler of Overland Park, Kan., and Dominick and Lola Scudiero of Kansas City, Mo.

Michael graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2007 and attends Mississippi State University majoring in business information systems.

Michael was DAR Good Citizen during his senior year, won the Kiwanis Key Club Scolarship in 2007, American Legion Award in 2007 and was salutatorian 2007 class at Trinity Episcopal School.

Michael is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Toastmasters and is involved in various community projects through Habitat for Humanity. He enjoys writing, movies, college football and computers.

William Taylor Hinson

Taylor is the son of Jimmy and Jeannie Dickey and Bill Barbara Hinson and the grandson of Ann Ballew and late Gene Ballew and Edgar and Fae Hinson all of Natchez.

Taylor graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2007 and attends Copiah-Lincoln Community College majoring in nursing.

Taylor is a member of Parkway Baptist Church, Phi Theta Kappa, on the dean’s list, recipient of the Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship, ACT Scholarship, National Football Foundation, and recipient of the College Hall of Fame and Miss-Lou Chapter Scholar Athlete Award.

He enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to LSU games, playing golf, football and soccer in his free time.

His previous pageant participation includes The Wedding.

Charles Aubrey Jennings III

Chase is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Jennings Jr. and the the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Jennings and the late Eloise Jennings of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon W. Decker, Sr. of Byram.

Chase graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2006 and attends Mississippi State University majoring in psychology. He was chosen for an advanced psychology lab assistantship.

Chase enjoys playing the guitar and reading.

His previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, Raising of the Flag and Polka.
