Let’s focus on a great week to come

When you weren’t buying Saints shirts and decking your living room in black and gold last week, you might have noticed it was a pretty good week.
With Mardi Gras in full swing, the first two parades rolled in downtown Natchez, delighting young and old alike.
But the news of the week, believe it or not, revolved around more than just South Louisiana traditions.
4 Holy Family Catholic School celebrated Catholic Schools Week with events Sunday through Friday. Children kicked off the week with a parade Monday; community members finished things off by visiting classrooms to read to the children Friday.
Holy Family is a unique part of our community, and we are glad they are around.
4 It has been several weeks since LaPetra Wilson was crowned National Cover Girl, but the Natchez High teen is still fulfilling her title of role model among her peers.
4 The City of Natchez donated a vacant lot it owns to Habitat for Humanity. The non-profit organization has used up all its available land, and this donation will make another home for another family possible.
4 The Natchez Trails Project isn’t quite ready for use yet, but at least we have a better idea of what it may look like. At its annual meeting Monday, the Historic Natchez Foundation displayed a map of the trails and panels that will line the walking trails.
We can’t wait for this project’s completion, as we know its something the entire community can enjoy.
As we clean up the messes left from Sunday’s Super Bowl parties, let’s focus on a great week to come.
