Cast your vote for the purrfect cat

Published 11:58 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Early in January, I encouraged all the cat owners in our community to participate in the second annual Most Purrfect Cat Photo Contest sponsored by the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.

It is now time to vote for which cat will be crowned Most Purrfect Cat 2010. Saturday will be voting day at the Natchez Mall. Votes will cost $1 each and all proceeds from this contest will go to support the daily operations of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society shelter located at 392 Liberty Road.

The cat that gets the most votes, thus earning the most money for the shelter, will be crowned Most Purrfect Cat 2010. The winner will receive a crown, a cat goody basket, and have its photo submitted to The Natchez Democrat.

I must thank The Natchez Democrat for their help in getting the word out about this event, and The Natchez Mall for providing the space for us to display the photos.

Thanks also to the staff at the UPS Store for providing the mailbox for our contest. Most of all, thanks to each of you who entered our photo contest!

If you submitted a photo, please encourage your friends, family and co-workers to stop by the Natchez Mall to vote for your purrfect feline.

Even if you didn’t submit a photo, please come by the photo display between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday to view some of the most beautiful cat photos that you’ll ever see and cast a vote or two.

We’ll also have a photo slide show of cats that are currently available for adoption at the shelter.

Please remember, if you don’t have the purrfect pet in your life, stop by the shelter where you will find a wonderful companion or two.

Adoption hours are 2 to 5 p.m. weekdays.

If you cannot make it to the mall on Saturday, but would like to contribute, donations can be mailed to NACHS P.O. Box 549 Natchez, MS 39121.

On behalf of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society, thanks Miss-Lou for your continued support!
