Saints marched right on in

Does it feel real yet?
Two days have passed; you can’t still be dreaming.
That’s right, the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl and did so beautifully.
Decades of waiting, hoping and paper sack wearing came to an end for thousands of Saints fans Sunday night, and we know the party is still going strong.
Congratulations to all those who have waited so long.
Many New Orleanians feel the big win proves that Hurricane Katrina didn’t defeat their city or their spirit.
They’re right, for sure. But the 2005 hurricane did send dozens of New Orleans residents north a bit, to right here in Natchez.
Our community is still home to many who had to flee the floodwaters. Their presence has, in many cases, made us better and stronger. And Sunday night it made Natchez just a little more fun.
Whether we fully qualify as the “Little Easy” or not, Natchez and New Orleans definitely have some strong ties.
We are glad Hurricane Katrina made those ties stronger, and we are glad Sunday night’s win meant headlines for New Orleans about something other than the storm.
March on Saints.
