Hardy Crumb

FERRIDAY — Services for Hardy L. Crumb, 81, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Crumb was born April 8, 1928, in Eva, La., the son of Bellfield and Florence Green Crumb. He was a farmer.

Mr. Crumb was a member of Hall Grove Baptist Church in Monterey. He also was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Hardy Jr., and Hilton Crumb.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lancaster Crumb; four sons, Harvey W. Crumb and wife, Carla, of San Jose, Calif., Hodges R. Crumb of Monterey, Hillary Crumb of Austin, Texas and Herbert G. Crumb of Madera, Calif.; two daughters, Ann Taylor and husband, Juan, of Oakland, Calif., and Dorothy Thomas of San Jose; one brother, Dave Crumb of Ferriday; two daughters-in-law, Jackie Crumb of Natchez and Pam Crumb of Homer, La.; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
