NATCHEZ — Congressman Gregg Harper’s field representative has established office hours for Adams County.
Evan Gardner, the field representative, will be in Natchez the first Tuesday of every month, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Board of Supervisors’ meeting room at 314 State St.
“Harper stresses that he wants to have the best constituent service in congress,” Gardner said. “I’m in Natchez pretty often, but having an office lets me better serve Adams County.”
Adam Buckalew, Harper’s communications director, said establishing monthly office hours in Natchez would allow the congressman to build relationships with the local leaders and elected officials.
“Evan Gardner has worked with me as a field representative since I took office in January 2009,” Harper said. “I know he shares my commitment of serving the citizens across the Third Congressional District.”
Gardner, who is working on his master’s degree, said he is looking forward to being in Natchez more often and is grateful to the board of supervisors for allowing him to use their space.
Harper, a Republican who represents Mississippi’s Congressional District Three, is committed to reducing federal spending, creating jobs, providing affordable access to health care and increasing domestic energy output, Buckalew said.
“Congressman Harper regularly updates his social media outlets — Facebook, Twitter, Youtube — providing a revolving door on the events taking place throughout the third congressional district and in Washington,” Buckalew said.
