NATCHEZ — Area residents should be off of the roads by 8 p.m. if possible, Adams County Emergency Management Director Stan Owens said.
Snow should be falling by that time, and between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. Friday heavy, continuous snow is expected, Owens said.
Adams County and Natchez City crews are on standby to sand roads should they ice, Owens said.
Concordia Parish Emergency Director Morris White said parish road crews have heavy equipment on standby for clearing the roads, and Mississippi Department of Transportation Road Supervisor Bud Vines said MDOT crews will be watching the Mississippi River bridge very closely but it will remain open.
MDOT has sand spreaders, box blades on tractors to scrape ice and de-icing chemicals on standby, Vines said.
