KIRBY — Services for Carl Wayne “Byrd” Williams, 50, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in Fenwick, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Williams was born Feb. 22, 1959, in Meadville, the son of Betty Byrd and Otis Hamilton. He was baptized at an early age.
Mr. Williams attended Franklin High School and was employed by Georgia Pacific and Forest Products.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Harry and Margarette Williams; his biological father; grandparents, Ola Mae Byrd-Mosby, Slyvester Byrd, Charlie and Josephine Hamilton; and one daughter, Caroline Williams.
Survivors include a loving and devoted mother, Betty Byrd Squalls and husband, Walter II; four loving children, Antoinette LaFay Hinkston and husband, Henry, and Jennifer Williams Lyles and husband, Travon Sr., all of Natchez, LaRhonda Shell West and husband, Lawrence, of San Diego, Calif., and Carla Williams of Georgia; two sisters, Angela Williams and husband, Walter, of Natchez and Lorraine Hartfield of Colorado; five brothers, Otis Hamilton Jr. and wife, Arnetta, and Dewayne Hamilton, all of Colorado, Ronnie Williams Sr. and wife, Linda, of Roxie, Walter Squalls III and wife, Sherry, of Dallas and O’Shia Squalls and wife, Lorie, of Irving, Texas; seven grandchildren, Bennie Covington Jr., MaKayla Carradine, Orlandus Covington, Marvionnia Bridges, Michael Carradine, Ty’esha Williams and Travon Lyles Jr.; eight aunts; two uncles; a special friend, Massie Taylor; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
